Couldn’t be happier with either the quality of the vanity, the shipping or delivery
Purchased this for our half bath. It was delivered quickly and well packaged, shipping company called me 30 minutes prior to delivery excellent tracking. This vanity is well built very solid and beautiful. It replaced a pedestal sink. Still working on purchasing a more complimenting mirror. Definitely recommend Chans, was nervous ordering this online, they have awesome customer service, answered questions and great at providing shipping information for tracking. No way I could have purchased this locally for this price.
Perfect for our guest bathroom renovation.
This vanity is absolutely gorgeous. The pictures do not do it justice. I purchased the backsplash and it drastically enhanced the elegance.
However, the undermount sink was not cast correctly so the drain does not set in straight. This was not noticed until the drain was being installed. When you looked straight down at the hole from the top prior to installation of the drain, you could see the second hole did not line up with the first. It was an error made at the factory. The drain had to have silicone applied heavily to stop the leaking. Plumbers putty was no match. We have contacted Chans and are awaiting their response to the problem.
It arrived in a semi truck, which we had to meet at the end of our road; we live on a dirt road and the semi driver stated he was not allowed to drive down it. He assisted my husband with moving the pallet onto his pickup truck. A neighbor assisted with removing it from the pickup. It is very heavy. The cabinet was well packaged in a sturdy box with solid foam packing, wrapped in plastic wrap, secured to a pallet. It arrived in show room quality with no scratches or dents. It came already assembled.
The sink has an overflow hole in the front--information I could not find on the website. It also came with a silver drain, which I replaced with oil rubbed bronze to match my faucet. I purchased a single hole faucet and added a soap dispenser and a lotion dispenser to the two additional holes.
The cabinet has one shelf. Rather than cut the back of the shelf to accommodate the pipes, my husband lowered the shelf slightly. I placed baskets to organize the space.
The separately purchased backsplash is curved like a camel back sofa. It accents the beautiful shape of the countertop.
I was afraid it would be too dark, but the black and gold granite with white undermount sink ties my bathroom together. The vanity is a rich brown, almost cherry. I have medium brown walls with white trim, white tile floors, oil rubbed bronze light fixture and hardware.
The vanity was placed in a 33 inch wide space. The rear baseboard had to be shaved in two places at the site of the back legs to allow the cabinet to stand flush with the wall so the backsplash could be glued to the wall and countertop. There is approximately 1/2 inch space on each side between the countertop and the wall, just enough to accent that it is a free-standing vanity.
It took weeks to decide on this vanity. I wanted granite rather than marble. I originally wanted white granite on a dark wooden ornate cabinet, but could not find one in my price range. Except for the problem with the drain, I am very pleased with this vanity. It fulfilled all my requirements and looks much more expensive than it actually was.
If the sink had been cast correctly this would definitely be a 5 star review. However, the drain does not sit completely straight and it has the potential to eventually leak again.
Did I say how beautiful it is?
